Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: May 20, 2011 Natchitoches Parish Fatal Crash Last night, a single vehicle crash killed a man and injured another. Troopers responded to the crash around 10:10 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 486 east of Campti, LA. The crash involved a 1996 Cadillac Deville, driven by Perry Nash (B/M 24 yrs) of Chestnut, LA. The Cadillac was west bound on LA Hwy 486 passing another vehicle in a clearly marked passing zone. During the passing maneuver, Nash lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a ditch and began overturning. Nash was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His only passenger, identified as Reado N. Nargo (B/M 27 yrs) of Clarence, LA, received moderate injuries. He was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 21 fatal crashes for the year of 2011, resulting in 22 fatalities.
