Alexandria Woman Seriously Injured In Crash

Earlier today, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a woman from Alexandria, LA and injured four other people.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:50 am, which occurred on US Hwy 167 near Williana, LA. The crash involved a 1997 Buick Lesabre, driven by Andrea Margaret Bennett (W/F 20 yrs). The Buick was north bound on US Hwy 167 when Bennett lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, Bennett overcorrected her vehicle, reentered US Hwy 167, and exited the right side of the roadway before colliding with several trees.

Bennett was not wearing her seatbelt and received serious injuries. She was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Her passengers are identified as Dalwyn E. Flournoy (W/M 25 yrs) of Forest Hill, LA, a young toddler (W/M 1 yr) of Alexandria, LA, James D. Morris (W/M 21 yrs) of Atlanta, LA, and Stephanie P. Armstrong (W/F 19 yrs) of Alexandria, LA. Flournoy was transported to Winn Medical Center and the young toddler, Morris, and Armstrong were transported to Cabrini Hospital. The only restrained occupant was the young toddler. All the passengers received minor injuries.

Bennett was charged with Careless Operation and No Seatbelt. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
