Last night, a crash involving two vehicles seriously injured a woman from Otis, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 9:40 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 121 south of LA Hwy 465. The crash involved a 2001 Chrysler Concord, driven by Crystal Michelle McDaniel (W/F 27 yrs) and a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, driven Paula K. Fletcher (W/F 44 yrs) of Glenmora, LA. The Chrysler was south bound on LA Hwy 121 when McDaniel crossed the centerline and collided with the north bound Oldsmobile.

McDaniel was not wearing her seatbelt and received serious injuries. She was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Fletcher was not wearing her seatbelt and received moderate injuries. She was transported to Cabrini Hospital.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
