Winnfield Man Seriously Injured In Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Winnfield, LA
Troopers responded to the crash around 3:10 am, which occurred on US Hwy 167 south of Williana, in Grant Parish. The crash involved a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Ramiro Moralez (O/M 22 yrs) of Winnfield, LA. The Chevrolet was north bound on US Hwy 167 when Moralez lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, Moralez overcorrected his vehicle and exited the left side of the roadway before the Chevrolet began overturning.
Moralez received minor injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was wearing his seatbelt. His only passenger, identified as Felipe Gomez (O/M 25 yrs), received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was not wearing his seatbelt.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
