September 1, 2011
Georgetown Woman Killed In LaSalle Parish Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Georgetown, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 4:45 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 500 west of US Hwy 84. The crash involved a 2004 Dodge Neon, driven by Valerie A. Bradford (W/F 44 yrs). The Dodge was east bound on LA Hwy 500 when Bradford lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a utility pole before overturning.
Bradford was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
Troop E troopers have investigated 49 fatal crashes for the year of 2011, resulting in 51 fatalities.
