Winn Parish Fatal Crash

Winn Parish- Tonight, Louisiana State Police Troop E investigated a fatal crash on LA 477 north of US 71 that claimed the life of a Natchitoches man.

According to investigating troopers, on October 8, 2010, at 7:40 p.m., 38-year-old Julius Washington of Natchitoches, LA, was driving a 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 4-wheeler north on LA 477. Washington struck a deer causing him to be ejected from the 4-wheeler. The 4-wheeler overturned several times coming to rest off the roadway. Washington was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Routine toxicology samples are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Troop E troopers have investigated 52 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 58 fatalities.
