Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 16, 2010 Young Man Killed In Sabine Parish Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed one and injured another. Troopers responded to the crash around 2:20 am, which occurred LA Hwy 1215 at the Aimwell Bridge. The crash involved a 2008 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Matthew T. Rivers (W/M 23 yrs) of Zwolle, LA. The Chevrolet was east bound on LA Hwy 1215 when Rivers lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a bridge guardrail. Rivers was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead. Alcohol usage is suspected. His only passenger, Adam W. Ezernack (25 yrs) of Zwolle, received moderate injuries and was transported to Sabine Medical Center. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 54 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 60 fatalities.
