Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 19, 2010 Pineville Woman Seriously Injured In Crash Yesterday evening, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a woman and injured three juveniles. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:15 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 122 at Ferrier Road, in Grant Parish. The crash involved a 2003 Ford pickup, driven by Crystal D. Gongre (W/F 27 yrs). The Ford was west bound on LA Hwy 122 when Gongre lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a utility pole before colliding with several small trees. The Ford then reentered LA Hwy 122, exited the left side, and collided with a mailbox and a culvert before overturning. Gongre received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides General Hospital. There were three juveniles (8 yrs, 2 yrs, and 1 yr) in Gongre’s vehicle at the time of the crash. The eight-year-old was not properly restrained and was ejected during the crash. He received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides General Hospital. The two-year-old and one-year-old were restrained, but received minor injuries. They were transported to Rapides General Hospital. Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
