| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: December 2, 2010 Avoyelles Parish Serious Injury Crash Earlier this evening, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Marksville, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:30 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 453 north of LA Hwy 1. The crash involved a 1998 Jeep, driven by Dean P. Dauzat (W/M 44 yrs). The Jeep was north bound on LA Hwy 453 when Dauzat lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a culvert before overturning and colliding with a ditch embankment and two trees. Dauzat was not wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to Avoyelles Hospital for treatment. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
