Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: December 4, 2010 Sabine Parish Fatal Crash Early this morning, a crash involving two vehicles killed one person and injured four others. Troopers responded to the crash around 4:00 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 6 at the Pendleton Bridge. The crash involved a 2008 Ford pickup, driven by Preston G. Milam (W/M 18 yrs) of Madisonville, TX and a 2007 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Joseph E. Renfroe (W/M 19 yrs) of Hemphill, TX. The Ford was east bound on LA Hwy 6 when Milam crossed the centerline and collided with the west bound Jeep. Milam received moderate injuries and was transported to Sabine Medical Center. Joseph E. Renfroe was pronounced dead at the scene. There were three passengers in Joseph E. Renfroe’s vehicle, identified as Joshua A. Renfroe (W/M 20 yrs) of Hemphill, TX, Mallory D. Martone (W/F 19 yrs) of Many, LA, and Bradley R. Hammond (W/M 20 yrs) of Milam, TX. Joshua A. Renfroe received serious injuries and was transported to Sabine Medical Center. Martone received serious injuries and was transported to San Augustine Hospital. Hammond received moderate injuries and was transported San Augustine Hospital. Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 57 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 63 fatalities.
