Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 5, 2010 Terminally Ill Child’s Wish Comes True On Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:30 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E’s “I Wish Foundation” will grant a child his wish. The event is hosted by Rapides Regional Medical Center. The wish will take place at a surprise birthday party located at the Hematology Oncology Life Center (605 Medical Center Drive, Alexandria). The boy is a seven year old from Winnfield, LA who has been raised by his grandparents since he was born. He has a brain tumor in which he underwent surgery. Most of it was removed and he is currently receiving radiation treatment. The surgery has left him unable to walk, but he is a warrior and is battling through it with a smile on his face. The wish that he will be granted is a trip to Disney World. Since 1986, the “I Wish Foundation” has helped dozens of terminally ill children between the ages of 4 to 17.
