| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 8, 2010 Rapides Parish Fatal Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Moreauville, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 4:20 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 1 north of LA Hwy 457. The crash involved a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Terry M. Bannister (B/M 28 yrs). The Chevrolet was north bound on LA Hwy 1 when Bannister lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a culvert before overturning and colliding with a utility pole. Bannister was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. He was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 51 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 57 fatalities.
