Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: September 9, 2010 Vernon Parish Crash Last night, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a woman from Merryville, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 10:00 pm, which occurred on US Hwy 171 near Pickering High School. The crash involved a 1999 Honda, driven by Melissa Phillips Arnold (W/F 38 yrs). The Honda was south bound on US Hwy 171 when Arnold lost control and collided with a concrete bridge rail. Arnold was not wearing her seatbelt and received serious injuries. She was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
