| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: May 2, 2011 Grant Parish Fatal Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle fatal crash killed a man from Princeton, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 1:45 am, which occurred on South Hargis Road near LA Hwy 1240. The crash involved a 2000 Ford Expedition, driven by Willie A. Cobb (W/M 70 yrs). The Ford was north bound on South Hargis Road when it exited the right side of the roadway and collided with an embankment. Cobb was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained minor to moderate damage. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears the crash resulted after Cobb experienced a medical related incident. The Grant Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated eighteen fatal crashes for the year of 2011, resulting in nineteen fatalities.
