Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: April 11, 2011 Leesville Man Seriously Injured In Crash On Thursday, April 7, 2011, a single vehicle crash left a man seriously injured. Troopers responded to the crash around 8:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 8 west of Leesville, in Vernon Parish. The crash involved a 1996 Ford pickup, driven by Ray L. Jones (B/M 46 yrs). The Ford was west bound on LA Hwy 8 when Jones lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a ditch embankment before colliding with several trees and overturning. Jones was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. His condition was initially listed as moderate and was transported to Byrd Hospital. His condition became worse and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
