Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: April 18, 2011 Child Seriously Injured In Crash Early yesterday evening, a single vehicle crash injured three children and one teenager. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:15 pm, which occurred on US Hwy 171 north of Fisher, LA, in Sabine Parish. The crash involved a 2001 Honda CRV, driven by Janee V. Sydney (W/F 18 yrs) of Anacoco, LA. The Honda was north bound on US Hwy 171 when Sydney ran over the rumble strip located on the right shoulder. Then, she overcorrected her vehicle before it began to overturn. Sydney received minor injuries. There were three juveniles (B/M 10 yrs, B/M 11 yrs, and B/F 8 yrs) of Anacoco, LA, in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The ten-year-old received serious injuries, the eleven-year-old received moderate injuries, and the eight-year-old received minor injuries. All the occupants were wearing their seatbelts and were transported to Sabine Medical Center for treatment. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
