Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 1, 2011 **UPDATE**Concordia Parish Serious Injury Crash **On December 31, 2010, Kzarious Fletcher was pronounced dead at Rapides Regional Medical Center from injuries he sustained in the crash. See below for the original news release. Earlier this morning, a single vehicle crash seriously injured two men and moderately injured another. Troopers responded to the crash around 2:40 am, which occurred on Fisherman Drive near Ferriday, LA. The crash involved a 2007 Pontiac G6, driven by Kristopher David Brown (B/M 25 yrs) of Ferriday, LA. The Pontiac was west bound on Fisherman Drive when Brown lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree. Brown received moderate injuries and was transported to Riverland Medical Center for treatment. Darren Brooks (B/M 26 yrs) and Kzarious Fletcher (B/M 22 yrs) were passengers in Brown’s vehicle. Brooks and Fletcher both received serious injuries and were transported to Riverland Medical Center. Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 61 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 67 fatalities.
