Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 3, 2011 Rapides Parish Serious Injury Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Oakdale, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 11:40 am, which occurred on US Hwy 165 north of Glenmora, LA. The crash involved a 1998 GMC Jimmy, driven by Stephen H. Young (W/M 52 yrs). The GMC was north bound on US Hwy 165 when Young lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle reentered US Hwy 165, traveled across both north bound lanes (right to left), and collided with a guardrail. The GMC then traveled across both north bound lanes (left to right) before exiting the roadway and overturning. Young received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. A medical condition may be a contributing factor. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
