Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 24, 2011 Rapides Parish Fatal Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed one man and seriously injured another. Troopers responded to the crash around 8:50 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 107 south of LA Hwy 3128. The crash involved a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Jeffery M. Bordelon (W/M 47 yrs) of Pineville, LA. The Mitsubishi was north bound on LA Hwy 107 when Bordelon lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch and collided with a culvert. Jeffery M. Bordelon was wearing his seatbelt, but received serious injuries. He was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. His only passenger, identified as Ronald Bordelon (W/M 75 yrs) of Pineville, was not wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated five fatal crashes for the year of 2011, resulting in six fatalities.
