Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Jonesville, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 4:50 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 3102 west of LA Hwy 124. The crash involved a 2010 Ford pickup, driven by Sheri C. Laprairie (W/F 33 yrs). The Ford was eastbound on LA Hwy 3102 when Laprairie lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a metal trash container before colliding with a tree.

Laprairie was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E Troopers have investigated 56 fatal crashes in 2012, resulting in 61 fatalities.
