Natchitoches Parish Serious Injury Crash Earlier today, a crash involving a pickup and a tractor seriously injured a man from Marthaville, LA.
Troopers responded to the scene around 7:10 a.m., which occurred on US Hwy 71 south of Clarence, LA. The crash involved a 2001 Ford pickup, driven by Jerry L. Coutee (B/M 40 yrs) and a 2010 John Deere tractor, driven by L. D. McDaniels (B/M 53 yrs) of Natchez, LA. The Ford was northbound on US Hwy 71 when it collided with the tractor, which was northbound traveling slowly. After colliding with the tractor, the Ford entered a ditch before colliding with a tree.
Coutee was not wearing his seatbelt and received serious injuries. He was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
McDaniels was not injured.
Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
