Natchitoches Parish Serious Injury Crash

Yesterday afternoon, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man and moderately injured a woman.

Troopers responded to the crash around 3:30 pm, which occurred on US Hwy 71 north of Campti. The crash involved a 1991 Dodge pickup, driven by Robert W. Platt (W/M 33 yrs) of Elkhart, TX. The Dodge was north bound on US Hwy 71 when Platt lost control and exited the left side of the roadway before colliding with several trees.

Platt was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. His only passenger, identified as Brenda Platt (27 yrs) of Palestine, TX, was wearing her seatbelt and was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
