One Dead And Several Injured In LaSalle Parish Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Jena, LA and injured three others.
Troopers responded to the crash around 6:30 a.m., which occurred on US Hwy 84 in LaSalle Parish. The crash involved a 2006 Nissan Altima, driven by Kourtney S. Wilson (B/F 26 yrs) of Jena. The Nissan was westbound on US Hwy 84 when Wilson lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle traveled down an embankment before colliding with a couple trees.
Wilson was wearing her seatbelt and received moderate injuries. She was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Coryda Q. Wright (B/M 25 yrs), Delinda C. Day (W/F 46 yrs), and Rochelle D. Brown (B/F 26 yrs), all of Jena, were passengers in Wilson’s vehicle. Day was wearing her seatbelt and received moderate injuries. She was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Brown was not wearing her seatbelt and received moderate injuries. She was transported to LaSalle General Hospital. Wright was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
