TROOP E - NEWS RELEASE
September 26, 2012
Natchitoches Parish Fatal Crash Yesterday afternoon, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Natchitoches, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 1:00 p.m., which occurred on US Hwy 71 south of Clarence, LA. The crash involved a 2000 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Kenneth C. Johnson (W/M 59 yrs). The Chevrolet was southbound on US Hwy 71 when Johnson lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle reentered US Hwy 71 and exited the left side before colliding with an embankment.
Johnson was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
Troop E Troopers have investigated 46 fatal crashes in 2012, resulting in 51 fatalities.
