Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Sabine Parish Crash

Earlier today, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Converse, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 2:30 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 191 south of LA Hwy 174. The crash involved a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Frankie D. Mouser (W/M 48 yrs). The Harley Davidson was northbound on LA Hwy 191 when Mouser passed two vehicles and attempted to return to the northbound lane, as he was entering a curve. Mouser then lost control and exited the roadway, before entering a ditch and colliding with an embankment.

Mouser was ejected from his motorcycle. He was wearing an unapproved novelty helmet and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Motorcyclists must wear a proper US D.O.T. helmet when operating their motorcycle on Louisiana roadways. Although not all crashes are survivable, properly utilizing safety equipment like approved motorcycle helmets and seatbelts decrease your risk of serious injury or death.
