TROOP E NEWS RELEASE

June 5, 2013
Unrestrained Natchitoches Man Killed In Crash

Natchitoches Parish – Late last night, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Natchitoches, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:30 p.m., which occurred on Hicks Road near Bennett Loop. The crash involved a 2010 Ford pickup, driven by Kerry J. Friedman (W/M 53 yrs). The Ford was westbound on Hicks Road when Friedman lost control and exited the left side of the roadway before colliding with a tree.

Friedman was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E Troopers have investigated nineteen fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in nineteen fatalities.
