REGION 3 NEWS RELEASE June 6, 2013 Ferriday Man Arrested For Child Pornography Concordia Parish - Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office arrested Charles Hart (W/M 70 yrs) of Ferriday, LA, yesterday for possession and distribution of child pornography. In February 2013, Louisiana State Police received information from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Slidell Police Department in reference to a person downloading child pornography in Ferriday, LA. The residence was determined to be Hart’s and in April 2013 a search warrant was obtained and executed. During the execution of the search warrant, contact was made with Hart and numerous images of child pornography were located. Also observed/located, during the execution of the search warrant, was a shotgun with a 12 inch barrel. The computer was seized for further examination and the shotgun was seized as evidence. On April 17, 2013, Hart was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm. As the investigation continued, additional evidence was obtained and an arrest warrant was issued for Hart charging him with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. Yesterday, Hart voluntarily surrendered himself to LSP Troopers and was booked into the Concordia Parish Detention Center.
