TROOP E NEWS RELEASE July 5, 2013 Crash Kills Young Man From Marksville Avoyelles Parish – Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a young man from Marksville, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 3:30 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 107 in Center Point. The crash involved a 2008 GMC pickup, driven by Christian C. Cole (W/M 20 yrs). The GMC was northbound on LA Hwy 107 when Cole lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a culvert and then a tree. Cole was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 23 fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in 23 fatalities.
