TROOP E - NEWS RELEASE April 7, 2013 Deville Woman Seriously Injured In Crash Rapides Parish – Late this afternoon, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a woman from Deville, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 115 at Woodson Landing Road. The crash involved a 1998 Ford pickup, driven by Sarah D. Dodge (W/F 37 yrs). The Ford was northbound on LA Hwy 115 when Dodge lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the right side, Dodge overcorrected her vehicle and exited the left side before overturning and colliding with a tree. Dodge was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected. She received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash.
