TROOP E - NEWS RELEASE April 14, 2013 Teenager Killed In ATV Crash Sabine Parish – Late this afternoon, a crash involving an ATV killed a teenager from Many, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 5:00 p.m., which occurred on Geoghagan Road. The crash involved a 2012 Honda Rancher ATV, driven by Justin R. Brevelle (W/M 16 yrs). The ATV was southbound on Geoghagan Road when Brevelle lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the ATV impacted a ditch embankment. Brevelle was ejected from the ATV and was not wearing a helmet. Excessive speed is considered a factor. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. The public is reminded that it is dangerous and illegal to operate off-road vehicles (i.e. three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and other all-terrain vehicles) on any public roadway in this state. Troop E Troopers have investigated eleven fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in eleven fatalities.
