Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Pleasant Hill, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 8:50 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 175 south of LA Hwy 120. The crash involved a 2002 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Kristin N. Etheridge (W/F 23 yrs). The Chevrolet was north bound on LA Hwy 175 when Etheridge lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle reentered LA Hwy 175 and again exited the right side before colliding with an embankment and overturning.

Etheridge was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E troopers have investigated nine fatal crashes for the year of 2012, resulting in eleven fatalities.
