Deville Teen Seriously Injured In Crash Earlier today, a crash involving two vehicles seriously injured a teen from Deville, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 2:30 pm, which occurred on Philadelphia Road in Rapides Parish. The crash involved a 1995 Honda Civic, driven by a juvenile (W/M 16 yrs) and a 2001 Ford pickup, driven by Jeffrey Pentz (W/M 42 yrs) of Deville, LA. The Honda was west bound on Philadelphia Road when the juvenile lost control and crossed the centerline into the opposing lane of travel. After crossing the centerline, the Honda collided with the east bound Ford.
The juvenile was not wearing his seatbelt and received serious injuries. He was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Pentz was not wearing his seatbelt and received moderate injuries. He was transported to Cabrini Hospital.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
