January 3, 2012
Teen Seriously Injured In LaSalle Parish Crash Earlier today, a crash involving two vehicles seriously injured a teen from Grayson, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 6:40 am, which occurred on US Hwy 165 north of Olla, LA. The crash involved a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a juvenile (W/M 17 yrs) and a 1998 Mack (18 wheeler), driven by James R. Boyett (W/M 60 yrs) of Olla. The Jeep was north bound on US Hwy 165 when it collided with the rear of the north bound Mack. Both vehicles were traveling in the outside lane of US Hwy 165.
The juvenile received serious injuries and had to be extricated. It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to Hartford Medical Center and then to Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Boyett was not injured.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
