January 11, 2012
Winn Parish Serious Injury Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a woman from Winnfield, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 8:30 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 499 near Henry Sanders Road. The crash involved a 2003 Honda Odyssey, driven by Julie P. Bass (W/F 33 yrs). The Honda was north bound on LA Hwy 499 when Bass lost control and exited the left side of the roadway before colliding with a stop sign, a road sign, and a guide wire attached to a utility pole.
Bass received serious injuries and was transported to Winn Medical Center. It is unknown if she was wearing a seatbelt.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
