Vernon Parish Fatal Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a young woman from Kentucky.
Troopers responded to the crash around 4:00 am, which occurred on US Hwy 171 north of Rosepine, LA. The crash involved a 2002 Ford, driven by Cody A. Bundy (W/M 20 yrs) of Burlington, KY. The Ford was north bound on US Hwy 171 when Bundy lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle impacted a ditch and collided with two trees.
Bundy received moderate injuries and was transported to Byrd Hospital. His only passenger, identified as Tiffany D. Bowmer (W/F 20 yrs) of Florence, KY, was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
Troop E troopers have investigated two fatal crashes for the year of 2012, resulting in three fatalities.
