Monterey Woman Killed In Concordia Parish Crash |
TROOP E - NEWS RELEASE
February 5, 2012
Monterey Woman Killed In Concordia Parish Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Monterey, LA.
Troopers responded to the crash around 10:00 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 129 near Joe's Horseshoe Marina. The crash involved a 2006 Nissan Maxima, driven by Sheila Farrar (W/F 46 yrs). The Nissan was north bound on LA Hwy 129 when Farrar lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, Farrar overcorrected her vehicle, reentered LA Hwy 129, and collided with a bridge railing.
Farrar was not wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Riverland Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
Troop E troopers have investigated six fatal crashes for the year of 2012, resulting in eight fatalities.
