Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Pineville, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 8:30 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 454 west of LA Hwy 107. The crash involved a 2000 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Yvonne Michielle Muth Willett (W/F 35 yrs). The Cadillac was west bound on LA Hwy 454 when Willett lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a driveway embankment and began overturning.

Willett was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E troopers have investigated 23 fatal crashes in 2012, resulting in 25 fatalities.
