Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 13, 2008 Two Troop E Troopers Complete Motorcycle Training Course On Friday, October 10, 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop E Troopers Adrian Landreneau and Joey Simms completed the Northwestern Basic Operators Motorcycle Course taught by Louisiana State Police instructors. The class was comprised of two weeks of rigorous training located in Kenner, LA. The course dealt with everything from how to start the motorcycle, maneuvering the motorcycle at slow speeds, traffic stops, and motor officer survival. Each Trooper must successfully complete the training course before he/she is allowed to operate the motorcycle, in an official capacity, with Louisiana State Police. This is the first time Troop E has had Troopers specifically assigned to motorcycles. The motorcycles will be used for traffic enforcement, escorts, parades and other community events.
