Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: October 15, 2008 Marksville Man Arrested On Charges Involving Solicitation Of A Minor & Indecent Behavior With A Juvenile On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office arrested Mr. Kenneth Paul Desselle Jr. (W/M 33 yrs) of 160 River Road, Marksville, LA. Other agencies that assisted in the operation/arrest were the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office. On Monday, October 13, 2008, during an undercover Internet Predator detail in Rapides Parish, Mr. Desselle Jr. contacted an undercover Trooper. The Trooper was working under the identity of an underage (14 yrs) female. The contact was made via the internet. During the online conversation, Mr. Desselle Jr. used sexually explicit dialog, described inappropriate acts, and discussed arranging a meeting with the underage female for sexual purposes. On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, Mr. Desselle Jr. again contacted the undercover Trooper and discussed a meeting with the underage female for sexual purposes. A meeting was scheduled and Mr. Desselle Jr. was arrested once he arrived at the location. Mr. Desselle Jr. was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and charged with Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor (LRS 14:81.3) and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (LRS 14:81). The three agencies listed above are members of the Central Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Other agencies that are members are as follows: Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office, Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office, Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, Fort Polk Criminal Investigations Division, Pineville Police Department, and Alexandria Police Department. The main objective/goal of this task force is to investigate child pornography and to intercept/arrest internet predators.
