Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: September 22, 2008 Juvenile Incurs Serious Injuries After Falling Off The Trunk Of A Vehicle On Monday, September 22, 2008, at 3:28 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a serious injury crash involving one vehicle. The crash occurred on Mary Ann Drive, near LA Hwy 1200, in Rapides Parish. The crash involved a 1999 Nissan Sentra, driven by Mr. Edward L. Tomlin Jr. (W/M 33 yrs) of Boyce, LA. The Nissan was north bound on Mary Ann Drive with a nine-year-old male juvenile riding on the trunk and a six-year-old male juvenile riding on the hood. The nine-year-old fell from the trunk of the Nissan onto the asphalt roadway resulting in severe head injuries. He was initially transported to Cabrini Hospital, but was later transferred to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. The six-year-old did not suffer any injuries. Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
