Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 27, 2009 Serious Injury Crash In Vernon Parish Early this morning a young woman was seriously injured when the vehicle she was driving crashed. Troopers responded to the crash around 5:25 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 10 and east of Rosepine, LA. The crash involved a 2004 Ford F-150, driven by Sheila M. Newhouse (W/F 27 yrs) of Pitkin, LA. Newhouse was west bound on LA Hwy 10 when she lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the Ford collided with several trees and overturned. Newhouse was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. She received serious injuries and was transported to Bayne Jones Hospital. There were not any passengers in Newhouse’s vehicle at the time of the crash.
