Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 4, 2009 Speed Considered A Factor In Woman’s Death Late last night Troopers investigated a crash that killed a woman around Toledo Bend. Troop E Troopers responded to the fatal crash around 10:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 191 west of Converse, LA and south of the DeSoto Parish line. The crash involved a 2007 Pontiac, driven by Vicky C. Jett (W/F 35 yrs) of Converse, LA. Jett was south bound on LA Hwy 191 when she lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree and then overturned. Jett was transported to DeSoto General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was wearing her seatbelt. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated two fatal crashes for the year of 2009, resulting in two fatalities. One of the two fatal crashes has involved an unrestrained motorist.
