See below for information regarding the crash and the original news release.

On Friday, August 8, 2008, at 7:45 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a serious injury crash involving one vehicle (ATV). The crash occurred on LA Hwy 567, milepost 1.7, in Catahoula Parish.

The crash involved a 1986 Honda three wheeler, driven by Mr. Adrian L. Sharp (W/M 29 yrs) of Clayton, LA. The Honda was north bound on LA Hwy 567 when Mr. Sharp lost control and ran off the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the Honda collided with a tree. After this collision, Mr. Sharp was ejected and impacted a tree.

Mr. Sharp was seriously injured and transported to Riverland Medical Center. He was wearing a helmet.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.

This is just another terrible example of why ATVs should NOT be operated on the roadway!
