| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: March 29, 2008 Natchitoches Man Arrested For “Possession Of An Illegal Weapon” On Friday, March 28, 2008, at 8:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop E Trooper First Class JL Dees was on patrol in Natchitoches, LA. TFC Dees observed a 1977 Ford pickup displaying obscene language on the rear glass and also observed the vehicle was displaying a car license plate. TFC Dees verified through Troop E dispatch that the license plate displayed did not belong to this vehicle. At this time Dees initiated a traffic stop, on this vehicle, at the intersection of East 4th Street and Scarborough Avenue. After coming into contact with the driver, Mr. Steven Roque (B/M 41 yrs) of Natchitoches, LA, Dees observed very nervous behavior along with other indicators. Mr. Roque consented to a search of his vehicle. The search revealed a sawed off shotgun measuring 12 ½” (barrel to breach). Mr. Roque was then arrested and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Jail. He was charged with Possession of an Illegal Weapon (sawed off shotgun), Failure to Register Firearm with the Department of Public Safety, Displaying Obscene Language on Rear Glass, Switched License Plate, Expired Inspection Sticker, and Expired Driver’s License. The weapon was seized for evidence.
