| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: April 24, 2008 Multi-Agency Internet Sting Operation Results In Several Arrests During the week of March 17-20, 2008, Louisiana State Police North District Detectives/ Alexandria Field Office hosted a multi-agency Internet sting operation which included the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Alexandria Police Department, Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. This operation focused on those individuals who target children, via the Internet, and those who are engaged in the trading of child pornography. During the operation, detectives arrested one person for Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Pornography Involving a Juvenile and Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor for Sexual Purposes. Detectives also executed four search warrants in which they believed child pornography was being traded, via the internet, and arrested two suspects as a result of the search warrants for Possession of Child Pornography. Additionally, detectives seized seven computers, numerous hard drives and over 100 CD/DVD’s which they believe to contain child pornography from four different residences. This operation is an ongoing commitment of the agencies involved to protect our children online and to vigorously seek out and arrest those that are engaged in the trading of child sex abuse images. Multiple investigations are ongoing and additional arrests are pending at this time.
