| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: February 10, 2008 Crash In Rapides Parish Kills One And Injures Two On Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 8:09 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash involving two vehicles. The crash occurred on St. Clair Road, 1.5 miles north of LA Hwy 28. The crash involved a 2004 Honda Civic, driven by Mr. Joshua L. Depril (W/M 21 yrs) of Alexandria, LA and a 2008 Dodge pick-up, driven by Mr. Hershel S. Williamson (W/M 64 yrs) of Melder, LA. The Honda Civic was north bound on St. Clair Road at a high rate of speed when Mr. Depril failed to negotiate a curve. The Honda Civic then crossed the center line and collided with the south bound Dodge pick-up. Mr. Depril was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office. Mr. Williamson and his only passenger, Mrs. Martha Williamson, were wearing their seatbelts and received minor injures as a result of this crash. They were transported to St. Frances Cabrini Hospital for treatment. Routine toxicology tests are pending. Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Troop E Troopers have investigated a total of 5 fatal crashes for the year of 2008, resulting in 5 fatalities.
