| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: February 15, 2008 Troopers Arrest Two Natchitoches Men On Drug Charges, One For Outstanding Warrants On Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 1:18 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E Senior Trooper Jace LaCaze was on patrol on US 71 in Rapides Parish. S/T LaCaze observed a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, directly in front of his patrol unit, fail to signal a lane change. After stopping this vehicle for the traffic violation, S/T LaCaze came into contact with the driver, Mr. Adrian D. Hill (B/M 29 yrs) of Natchitoches, LA. While S/T LaCaze spoke to Mr. Hill, LaCaze noticed the driver to be very nervous. S/T LaCaze also determined that Mr. Hill was not truthful about his criminal history. Mr. Hill consented to Troopers to search his vehicle. Louisiana State Police K-9 (Terri) was also utilized due to the fact that the trunk of the vehicle was broken. K-9 Terri alerted on the trunk and the dashboard area of the Galant. Senior Trooper Troy McNeal then located a small amount of marijuana under the center console of the vehicle. Mr. Hill was then arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Signal and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. While events transpired, it was determined that the only passenger in the vehicle, Mr. Peter J. Richards (B/M 27 yrs) of Natchitoches, LA was wanted through NCIC for a Probation and Parole warrant. Mr. Richards also had four warrants for his arrest, through Natchitoches Parish, for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Simple Escape, Theft, and Obstruction of Justice. Mr. Richards was then arrested without incident. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for this charge as well as for the five warrants.
