| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: February 17, 2008 Natchitoches Woman Arrested On Drug Charges And Outstanding Warrants On Sunday, February 17, 2008, at 2:50 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E Trooper First Class Shawn Owens was on patrol at the intersection of LA Hwy 504 at LA Hwy 3278. TFC Owens observed a red Ford Mustang that was being operated by Ms. Crystal D. Swan (W/F 34 yrs) of Natchitoches, LA. TFC Owens was familiar with Ms. Swan (prior law enforcement interaction) and was able to immediately identify her. TFC Owens was also aware that Ms. Swan had outstanding warrants for her arrest through Natchitoches Parish. The warrants were for Distribution of Crystal Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Distribute Crystal Methamphetamine, and Prescription Fraud. TFC Owens initiated a traffic stop and arrested Ms. Swan on the above mentioned warrants. After the arrest of Ms. Swan, TFC Owens searched her vehicle. The search revealed 75 hydrocodone pills, approximately one ounce of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a Jennings .380 caliber pistol. Ms. Swan was charged with Illegal Carrying of a Weapon and two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drugs. She was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center for these charges as well as for the outstanding warrants.
