Unrestrained Driver Seriously Injured In Crash

On Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 5:16 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a serious injury crash involving one vehicle. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 496, milepost 8.1, in Rapides Parish.

The crash involved a 1999 Kia Spectra, driven by Mr. Glenn R. Parker (W/M 51 yrs) of Boyce, LA. The Kia was east bound on LA Hwy 496 when Mr. Parker lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a private driveway/culvert. This action caused the vehicle to overturn.

Mr. Parker was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides General Hospital.

Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending.
