Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 7, 2008 Double Fatality Crash In Natchitoches Parish On Friday, June 6, 2008, at 6:55 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash involving one vehicle. The crash occurred on I-49, milepost 158, in Natchitoches Parish. The crash involved a 1994 Ford Explorer, driven by Ms. Deborah A. Longoria-Stuer (W/F 53 yrs) of Richardson, TX. The Ford was north bound on I-49 when the driver lost control due to an apparent tire failure (tire blowout). The vehicle then exited the left side of the roadway and began overturning several times. The driver was partially ejected and two passengers were totally ejected. The driver and one passenger, Mr. Eric K. Stuer (55 yrs) of Richardson, TX, were pronounced dead. The only other passenger, Ms. Jules Stuer (26 yrs) of Richardson, TX, received minor injuries and was transported to Willis Knighton-North. Routine toxicology tests are pending. Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Troop E Troopers have investigated 24 fatal crashes for the year of 2008, resulting in 27 fatalities. Three of the 24 fatal crashes have involved pedestrians. Three fatal crashes have involved an ATV and two have involved a motorcycle. Eleven of the 16 fatal crashes (passenger vehicles only) have involved unrestrained motorists/occupants. Seatbelt use is unknown in one fatal crash. Four fatal victims were restrained.
